A safe, respectful place to learn
Learner wellbeing, privacy and dignity are central to responsible digital literacy programmes, especially when working with children and young people.
Safety in every learning environment
Respect and inclusion
Treat every learner fairly, respectfully and without bullying, harassment or discrimination.
Child protection
Activities involving children should have appropriate supervision, consent and safe adult conduct.
Privacy and consent
Collect only necessary information and seek appropriate permission before using identifiable learner photographs or stories.
Online safety
Teach safe browsing, privacy awareness, responsible communication and how to report harmful online experiences.
Safe facilitation
Facilitators should maintain professional boundaries and use approved communication channels.
Raise a concern
Learners, parents, volunteers and partners should be able to raise a concern with the Foundation team.
Working together to protect learners
Schools, parents and host organisations are important partners in creating safe learning environments. Before a programme, we discuss age groups, supervision, permissions, venue arrangements and any specific learner needs.
- Parents or guardians should be informed about activities for minors
- Photographs and stories require appropriate permission
- Concerns should be shared promptly with the programme contact
